The apartment acceptance, or the apartment handover are important dates, where the landlord or the property management accurately documents the condition of the rented apartment. These appointments are always due when a tenant has given notice / has been given notice and a new tenant moves in. It is checked whether the tenant leaves the apartment in the same condition in which he found it when he moved in. The landlord should, for example, check whether the apartment is in a swept clean condition and whether other rooms belonging to the apartment (e.g. basement rooms or garages) have also been vacated.

The most important part of these procedures are the acceptance protocols/transfer protocols. Here the landlord notes the entire condition of the apartment with possible defects or other special features. In addition, photos of each room and the current meter readings should be included in the protocol.

The aim of digital solutions for apartment inspections and handovers is to reduce paper consumption and further increase efficiency. Apartment inspections can therefore also be carried out easily using a smartphone or tablet. Pictures, current meter readings and defects are recorded directly and the protocol is then signed digitally.
