Energy-efficient refurbishment is now widespread. It includes modernization measures aimed at saving energy, for example in the area of heating, hot water or ventilation. However, digital refurbishment is much less widespread.

Currently, many craft businesses use digital devices such as notebooks or tablets, but mostly only for administrative tasks. Mobile solutions that support day-to-day business are not yet very popular.

Energy-saving measures during building refurbishment are often aimed at reducing energy consumption. At the same time, there is an opportunity to increase the digitization of the existing building stock. For example, heating systems can be controlled with weather forecasts, the efficiency of heating devices can be monitored, and electricity consumption can be recorded. All these measures promise to reduce the energy consumption of the house.

However, digital purchase advice and subsequent referral to a suitable craftsman is also possible.

Another exciting trend in this area is so-called smart buildings. Here, the development of linking smart buildings with a smart city (“Ready to Grid”) is emerging.
