Landlords and property managers must equip apartments with radio-readable meters and provide the residents, monthly the intra-year consumption information. In some countries, these meters must be remotely readable and interoperable, i.e., compatible with other devices. Consumption information is used by tenants and owners to estimate their consumption on a regular basis. However, they do not replace a final bill as defined in the Heating Costs Ordinance.

In addition to the consumption of the respective user in the last month, the consumption information during the year also contains a comparison with the average user in the same category. Furthermore, if collected, the previous month’s consumption and the consumption in the same month of the previous year are also displayed.

Digitized intra-year consumption information offers numerous advantages to both us property owners, or property managers, and tenants. Radio meter reading reduces the amount of work required, as less manpower is needed. In addition, there is no longer any need to arrange and coordinate meter reading appointments with tenants. In addition, operating cost and ancillary cost statements can be conveniently automated on the basis of the intra-year consumption information.

UVI offers tenants the opportunity to view their energy consumption on a monthly basis. This gives them more information for their own energy management and encourages them to save energy.
